About Me

I grew up a 90s kid collecting Pokémon cards and playing the Pokémon Gameboy games. As with many, I grew out of the Pokémon phase in Middle School when it became “uncool”.

Fast forward around 2022 I began buying Pokémon cards for my oldest son. I quickly became re-engaged with the hobby and began watching YouTube videos to catch up on the 20 years I had missed out on. That Christmas I broke the seal and purchased a $100 Charizard UPC. My family thought I was crazy. I was hooked.

I recalled that my parents had stored away my old collection, or what remained of it. Amazingly, it was decently preserved in my parents’ unfinished basement in an old binder. It had various vintage hits including a Holo Dark Blastoise, First Edition Neo cards, and cards I remember holding dearly. Nostalgia lane was triggered.

As with every hobby I pursue, I fully invest myself and jump into the deep end of the pool. As a finance professional, I looked for ways to “justify” spending money opening Pokémon cards. I decided to start selling cards so that I could fund chasing my passion for the hobby.

I founded Basement Bulk, which began from finding my vintage cards in my parents’ basement, and now to actively running business operations out of my own basement. As a former powerlifter selling bulk cards the name stuck - Basement Bulk. My goals are to become a well established trusted seller, positive member of the community, and obtain distribution channels to grow my business.
